ABOUT
I bring over thirty years of work with children and families to my practice. My background includes work in public schools, private schools, schools abroad, adolescent wilderness therapy, homeless shelters, family crisis center, along with weed pulling, babysitting, and dishwashing. My experiences shape my work and help me understand that life isn’t always as we planned and that growth often comes from the hardest of times.
As a parent, I am in awe at the depth of love I have for my children and humbled by the intense challenges being a family brings. I have been blessed with having good friends, siblings, and therapists to assist me on this journey. I think it is wise to share the parenting path with those who can support you and your children.
When I am not seeing clients, I love spending time outside. I enjoy hiking, skiing, boating, biking, and gardening in the great Pacific Northwest. I also love to travel, check out modern architecture in new cities, have adventures with my siblings, and play with my community of friends. My favorite thing to do is spend meaningful time connecting (often outdoors) with my family; my teenage son, teenage daughter, husband, and our pooch.

“Though we can’t predict or control what will come up next or how we will feel about it, we can do something about how we react. We can work on how we relate to whatever comes up…We always have a choice in how we respond” – Pema Chödrön
